Thomas D. Matthews, MD, Patients First orthopedic surgeon, recently passed the 2010 Maintenance of Certification Examination and has fulfilled all of the requirements of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery Maintenance of Certification process. In 2000 the member boards of the American Board of Medical Specialties agreed to evolve their recertification programs to one of continuous professional development – the ABMS Maintenance of Certification. As a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, Dr. Matthews is committed to lifelong learning and competency in his specialty by fulfilling ongoing measurement of six core competencies. He must demonstrate the use of best evidence and practices compared to peers and national benchmarks, maintain a valid, unrestricted medical license, demonstrate specialty-specific skills and knowledge, and continue educational and self-assessment programs. Dr. Thomas Matthews sees patients at his orthopedic office on the Patients First Campus in Washington, MO. Patients First Health Care is a multi-specialty physician group that offers 73 physicians practicing in 20 specialties in 17 offices located in east central Missouri. |
