The Sheldon Arts Foundation, with the support of a grant from the Mid-America Arts Alliance, will be presenting jazz educator, author and radio host DJ Dennis Owsley at the Washington Public Library, 415 Jefferson Street in Washington, Missouri on Tuesday, March 16 a 6:30 p.m.  Owsley will present a lecture entitled “The Great Jazz Pianists.” The lecture is free, and attendees will be invited to attend a jazz concert at the Sheldon Concert Hall in St. Louis for a discounted ticket price.

Guy Midkiff, one of five candidates running for Mayor in Washington, Missouri will be holding a campaign rally on Saturday, March 13, 2010.  The event will include a number of raffles as well as live music, appetizers and drinks.  The event starts at 6:00pm on Saturday and will be held at the Busch Brewery in Washington, Missouri.  No RSVP is necessary.

The St. Clair High School Spring Blood Drive sponsored by Student Council from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 5, in the Upper Level Gymnasium, 1015 High School Drive, St. Clair, Missouri.

The St. John's Mercy Hospital Co-Worker and Community Blood Drive from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, March 18, in Classrooms A and B in the Mercy Medical Building,  851 East Fifth Street in Washington, Missouri.

The Union High School Spring Blood Drive sponsored by Student Council from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 25, in the Old Gymnasium, 1 Wildcat Drive in Union, Missouri.

Clearview Elementary School Family Game NightClearview Elementary School in Washington, Missouri held a game night for students and their families on Friday, February 26.    About 100 people attended the event, which was held in the school gymnasium.  A number of games were played, many involving balloons.  The conclusion of the event included a group activity of popping all the balloons.

The Washington Federated Republican Women (WFRW) will be holding a forum for Washington, Missouri City Council candidates on Wednesday, March 3, 2010.  All four wards have races for the April municipal election.  Candidates include: 

Ward 1 - Tim Overschmidt, Susan Langkopf, Steve Sullentrup

Ward 2 - Mark Hidritch, Lance Leykam, Martin Hoelscher, Charlie Schroepfer

Ward 3 - Jim Wilson, Tim Brinker
