Red Light Camera at Route 100 & Route A/JeffersonAt the March 3rd Washington, Missouri City Council meeting, Cheif Hahn, indicated that the department is set to begin issuing tickets for red light cameras violators "on or about March 8th".  The cameras are installed to monitor east/west violations on Route 100 at Highway 47 and at Route A/Jefferson.  Currently, violators are receiving warnings from the department.  The city has created a list of frequently asked questions about the cameras.  That list of questions can be viewed here .

Also during the March 3rd City Council meeting, Councilman Rhodes requested information of City Counselor Mark Piontek regarding the cameras.  Rhodes' concern centered around the pending lawsuit against the City of Arnold, Missouri over the cameras.  Rhodes questioned whether the City of Washington could potentially be included as a defendent in that lawsuit, and the cost the city would incur if that did happen.  Piontek agreed to look into the situation and provide the information requested.

Additional Washington, Missouri red light camera photos and video are available in a previous article here.
