The Washington, Missouri Public Library was host to Mary Hoerstkamp and around 20 area children who took part in a tea party. The event was held on Saturday, March 29th. Mrs. Hoerstkamp, originally from England, moved to the Washington, Missouri area in the late 1940's after marrying a World War II soldier. Mrs. Hoerstkamp spoke to the children about England and read a book. The children participated in activities including a craft, learning the game of "Snip Snap Snorem", and practicing etiquette while enjoying tea, cookies and trifle. The event was part of the World View series at the library which and was funded by the Ezra Jack Keats Foundation. |  |  |
