City Council members on Monday approved an ordinance authorizing expenditures for improvements to several city buildings. City Hall is among the buildings to be updated. Other buildings that will undergo improvements include the City Library and the restroom building at Lion's Lake. Renovations to the Library include a re-roofing and other maintenance work, while the restroom building will receive a number of updates including new fixtures and painting. The City Hall will receive significant updates to the front of the building as well as interior repairs. Shown below is the City Hall building (left) and a drawing of the proposed renovations (right). The drawing was completed by Washington Engineering and Architecture. The renovations are based on the original appearance of City Hall. As seen in the drawing, the existing ramp and steps will be removed and replaced by a new set of stairs. The $399,168 contract for improvements was awarded to Gildehaus Construction, LLC.
