By a 5-2 vote, the Washington, Missouri City Council passed an ordinance ending an agreement with K.J. Unnerstall Construction Company to build the Camp Street bridge.Councilmembers Mohesky, Rhodes, Overschmidt, Midkiff and Witt voted in favor of the ordinance while councilmembers Engemann and Langendoerfer voted against. Councilwoman Groff was absent from Monday night's meeting. The ordinance will effectively end two lawsuits which were related to the legality of the contract between the City and Unnerstall to build the bridge. That contract was approved earlier this year by resolution rather than ordinance.
