Presidential candidate Senator Barack Obama will be in Union, Missouri on Wednesday, July 30th for his third Missouri stop of the day. Obama will stop in Springfield and Rolla earlier on Wednesday and is expected to arrive in Union around 6pm. The event is closed to the general public, however 200 tickets were given away on a first-come, first-serve basis on Tuesday afternoon at the Franklin County Democratic Headquarters in Union. Pictures to the right show the line that formed to wait for the tickets. While tickets began being passed out at 4pm Tuesday, the line for those tickets started forming around 7am that morning. All available tickets for the event had been distributed by 3:45pm. Individuals receiving tickets will be allowed into the Union City Park Pavilion for a "meet and greet" and barbeque with the Senator. The event starts at 4pm ahead of the Senator's arrival later in the evening. St. Louis television stations were on hand to report from the Franklin County Democratic Headquarters in Union, and will cover the event Wednesday as well.
