Washington, Missouri will soon have another national discount retail shopping option.  Big Lots, which calls itself the "nation's largest broadline closeout retailer" is preparing to open at the intersection of Highway 47 and Highway 100 in the Washington Square shopping center. 

The 26,040 square foot store will occupy space previously occupied by JCPenney's.  The store will be the company's first in Franklin County.  At present, Washington's nearest Big Lots location is in St. Peters.

Based in Columbus, Ohio, Big Lots, Inc. was founded in 1967.  The company operates over 1,300 retail stores serving 47 states.
