Putting Kids First, the Franklin County initiative to create a children’s services fund, will hold its kick-off rally at Union City Park Main Pavilion on Thursday, September 25, 2008 at 5:30 p.m.

 

From the Putting Kids First website, Proposition 1 "Putting Kids First" is a countywide initiative to develop a Community Children’s Service Fund to help our children, youth and their families. The fund would be created through a countywide 1/4-cent sales tax increase (1 penny for every $4 purchase) initiative on the November 4th, 2008 ballot. The funds generated will be used solely for children’s service programs in Franklin county.

 

At the September 25 event, signs, postcards, window clings, etc. will be available for supporters to pick up.  A short rally will be conducted in preparation for the last 40 days of the campaign.  

The public from all of Franklin County is invited to attend and children are welcome.  The public is invited to bring their family and friends to help get the Putting Kids First campaign in full swing.
