At the September 15 Washington, Missouri City Council meeting, Mayor Stratman proclaimed October 1 to be Breast Cancer Awareness Day, the Month of October to be Breast Cancer Awareness Month and October 17 to be Mamography Day. As part of the awareness program, on October 5, 2008 from 2:00-4:00pm, St. John's Mercy Hospital will be hosting an awareness event at the hospital. The event will include speakers, a question and answer panel, informational booths and more. Information booths will be staffed by organizations such as the American Cancer Society, David C. Pratt Cancer Center, McAuley Click and Show-Me Healthy Women. Seating is limited and reservations for the event are required.
