Truck Routes in Washington, MO to be Updated PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 05 February 2008

The February 4th City Council meeting included discussion of a new ordinance which would amend the current Washington City Code pertaining to truck routes in the City of Washington.  The amendment would redefine the truck routes to be limited to Highway 100 and 47, as well as Highway A.  Trucks in excess of 24,000 lbs would be limited to these routes, except when making local deliveries.

City Council and government officials, as well as residents and local businesses who would be affected by the change, discussed the topic for more than forty-five minutes.  The ordinance was tabled pending further discussion.  It was requested, and Darren Lamb (City Planning) offered, to continue discussion of the needs of the amendment during the next Traffic Meeting.  That meeting is to be held in the Engineering Conference Room at City Hall at 10am on Friday, February 15th.  It is open to the public.
