Union Pacific spokesman Mark Davis said that crews worked through the night to replace the track damaged as the result of yesterday's derailment, replacing a total of 1200 feet of track.  37 cars of the 142-car Union Pacific train derailed early Tuesday morning just west of Washington, Missouri.

Davis indicated that 400 feet on one track was replaced on one line, and 800 feet on the other.  One line was open to rail traffic at 5:15 a.m. The second line expected to be open by 7:30 a.m.  The coal and damaged rail cars will continue to be removed from the area today.   The cause of the derailment is still under investigation.
