Bob Zick and Kevin Kriete make a presentation on the Missouri River bridge in Washington, MissouriDuring the regular City Council meeting on Monday, January 4, 2010, a presentation on the current and future state of the Missouri River bridge in Washington, Missouri was made by Bob Zick, chair of the Missouri Highway 47 Bridge Committee, and committee member Kevin Kriete (HDR Engineering, Inc.).

Zick and Kriete provided details on the original design and construction of the bridge in the 1930's, as well as details on the rehabilitations that have taken place on the bridge since its initial construction.  Zick and Kriete also discussed plans, timelines and costs for construction of a new bridge.  Committee goals for the new bridge include construction completion within 10 years and bike and pedestrian accessiblity.  Another goal for the new bridge is to allow the bridge to be easily expandable to four lanes if the initial construction did not include four lanes.
