Poetry Reading By Missouri’s Poet Laureate This Sunday

Walter Bargen, Missouri's first and current Poet Laureate, will read some of his poetry at the Washington City Council Chambers Sunday, June 28 at 3 p.m.  This program is being offered by the Washington Public Library as part of its adult summer reading program, Master the Art of Reading.  Mr. Bargen, from Ashland, MO, has published 12 books of poetry and his poems have appeared in over 100 magazines.  He has won several prestigious fellowships and awards.  The program is free and open to the public, with no registration required.  A cookie and punch reception will be served afterward so that attendees can visit with Mr. Bargen.
