SCOPE (Science and Citizens Organized for Purpose and Exploration) is collaborating with local Science and Technology education and business leaders to showcase what Washington, Missouri has to offer in Agriculture and Innovation. Families are invited to engage in a variety Robotics, Technology and Engineering interactive experiences August 5th, 2011 from 12-8pm. Along with a variety of hands-on science activities for the Science and Agriculture day on August 6th, 2011 from 12-8pm.

From the fun of constructing River City Robots Lego robotics, exploring advanced farming equipment, chemistry with East Central Community College and 3-D Plant Science glasses, there's something for everyone! Both days allow fairgoers to see there are multiple ways to be innovation is in their local communities and how they can access it for themselves and their families.

"Through events like the Science and Technology at Washington MO Fair, SCOPE's mission is to showcase resources and organizations. It's also important to make science fun engaging and relevant for everyone. Getting families and communities excited about life science (human, animal and plant science) related careers will allow us to have better futures and workforce opportunities." said SCOPE Founder and Executive Director Cynthia Kramer.

Parents and children alike will be able to see for themselves how local businesses exemplify innovation through Agscience and technology. From Riegel Farms robotics to milk at the dairy farm to the ultrasound machine used at Deppe's Farm, Friday and Saturday highlight ways Science and Technology bring innovation to farming.

Along with these activities, SCOPE is providing free information to the community that connects adults and children to Science, Technology and Agriculture opportunities such as: programs, curriculum, higher education, financial aid and workforce.
